Dr. K. V. Satish (born Kilaparthy Velankanni Satish on 19 June 1977) is an Indian industrialist, real estate executive, and philanthropist based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He serves as the Chairman and Managing Director of the DS-MAX Group, a South Indian business conglomerate primarily recognized for developing mid-tier and budget-friendly housing projects through its central brand, DS-MAX Properties Pvt. Ltd.

Beginning with regional trade operations in Karnataka, Satish engineered a backward-integrated business framework encompassing raw materials processing, quarrying, ready-mix concrete supply, interior design, structural engineering, and property maintenance across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.

Early life and educational background

Kilaparthy Velankanni Satish was born on 19 June 1977 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, to Kilaparthy Samba Murthy.

He obtained his undergraduate business degree in Visakhapatnam prior to moving to Southern Karnataka, where he finished his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Mysore. In acknowledgment of his community development programs and corporate achievements, an honorary doctorate was presented to him by an academic institution in Sri Lanka.

Professional career and enterprise growth

Commercial origins

Satish launched his professional journey in Bengaluru handling retail book distribution, marketing imported dictionaries, reference manuals, and instructional literature. This early operational experience provided direct exposure to customer preferences, regional retail distribution, and direct sales strategy.

Formation of DS-MAX Properties

Anticipating housing demand fueled by the IT-driven migration into Bengaluru during the mid-2000s, Satish ventured into residential realty marketing in 2005. In 2007, he incorporated DS-MAX Properties Pvt. Ltd. under the operating principle "Sharing the Joy of Living."

The enterprise initially commenced with two suburban apartment complexes, scaling to ten active construction sites within two years. By implementing standardized civil construction practices and maintaining controlled overhead costs, the company established an extensive portfolio of residential complexes across major urban and Tier-2 centers in South India.

Industrial integration model

To insulate construction timelines from material shortages and price volatility, Satish developed an integrated ecosystem supporting the firm's core real estate activities:

  • Raw Materials & Component Manufacturing: Captive stone mining, aggregate crushing, ready-mix concrete (RMC) plants, and in-house fabrication lines for UPVC and aluminum fittings.
  • Post-Construction Services: Subsidiary divisions providing specialized interior decor, civil engineering consulting, and ongoing property asset management.
  • Strategic Diversification: Targeted expansions into corporate commercial properties, commercial finance advisory, and private healthcare clinics.

Civic engagement and charitable works

Through the KVS Fans Charitable Trust and the Aashra Foundation, Satish coordinates ongoing social programs:

  • Healthcare Outreaches: Conducting routine medical camps, organizing blood donation drives, and financing ophthalmic surgeries for underprivileged seniors.
  • Student Aid Programs: Distributing learning materials, uniforms, and books through the "Kit of Joy" project, accompanied by higher education fee sponsorships.
  • Community Aid: Supporting residential shelters for destitute children, sponsoring collective marriages for financially constrained families, and supplying assistive mobility devices to disabled individuals.
  • Disaster Rehabilitation: Mobilizing essential goods, food supplies, and rebuilding grants during regional cyclones and flood emergencies.
