Dr. Arun Kumar S Haripad (born 30 May 1980), widely recognised by his pen name Ezhuthalan, is an Indian poet, author, lyricist, educator and social contributor from Kerala. Dr. Arun Kumar S was born in Haripad, a culturally vibrant town in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. From childhood, he was exposed to an environment that valued learning, public service and literary expression.

His father, V. N. Sivasankara Pillai, and his mother, Dr. L. Jayasree, a retired academic professional, nurtured his interest in language, ethics and critical thinking.

He pursued postgraduate studies in English literature, followed by professional teacher training at the Teacher Education Centre, Kayamkulam. After qualifying the State Eligibility Test (SET), he completed doctoral research leading to a PhD in English. Dr. Arun Kumar S Haripad began publishing poetry in the early years of the 21st century. His first Malayalam poetry book, Sudarshanam, introduced him as a socially conscious voice in contemporary Malayalam literature.

His poetry collection Novu was formally released in Thiruvananthapuram by Kerala’s Education Minister V. Sivankutty. The proceeds from the book were dedicated to relief initiatives supporting victims of the Wayanad landslides.

His English-language collection, Truth, Goodness and Beauty Behind Love, was launched by Kerala’s Agriculture Minister P. Prasad at a public programme held in Haripad.

Additional works by him include Good Vision, Porali, Ezhuthalan, and Atmayanathinte Kavita, the latter later adapted into an audio poetry presentation.
