Abhay Hareshbhai Patoriya (born 9 September 1998) is an Indian engineer, researcher, and automation specialist. He serves as the Technical Director and Board Member of Icon Packtech India Private Limited, a leading manufacturer of food, non-food, and pharmaceutical packaging machinery in India.
Known for integrating advanced robotics, automation, and production system engineering into packaging systems, Patoriya has played a significant role in modernizing India’s packaging machinery sector.
Early life and education
Abhay Patoriya was born in Jamnagar, Gujarat, and completed his schooling in Rajkot. He later attended Vidhyanagar University in Gujarat for his undergraduate studies.
Driven by a passion for robotics and automation, he moved to Germany, where he completed his Master's degree specializing in automation, robotics, pneumatics, lean manufacturing, and production system engineering.
During his academic years, he was an active member of *Team Beast*, a robotics group that participated in various national-level technology and robotics competitions.
Career
Abhay began his career in Germany as a Robotics Engineer, eventually becoming the Head of Production in a robotics-centered company. His experience in automation, system design, and industrial efficiency shaped his technical leadership style.
He returned to India in 2019 and joined Icon Industries as a Graduate Engineering Trainee. Over the years, he progressed through roles such as:

In 2024, after the company’s restructuring into Icon Packtech India Private Limited, he was appointed as Technical Director and Board Member. Under his leadership, the company has expanded into digital automation, robotics-enabled packaging systems, and pharmaceutical machinery manufacturing.
